Smokey eye makeup

Smokey eye makeup is in vogue in the fashion circles. The dark eyes add depth and drama to the eyes.  Smokey eyes could be in silver, black, brown, blue or green. This look is achieved by the use of eye shadow, eye pencils in different colors, liquid eye liners and mascara. Though this look seems complicated and difficult to achieve, it is really very simple and can be easily done by anyone in the comfort of the home.  A lot of people think the look may not seem appropriate; the reason for this is that not everyone is able to apply the smokey eye makeup. However, if the application is learnt well then the effect of the look is easily achievable.

The smokey eye makeup can be done with a dull effect or a shiny effect. The different effects give entirely different appearances. The effect that one chooses to use depends on the occasion and the time at which the occasion would be held. If a day time event is to be attended then the look could be dull and if the event is during the evening then the look makeup could be done with a shining effect.

The smokey eye makeup is done in three steps which include the highlight, the neutral shadow and the main shade of shadow. The highlight is generally a shining shade of eye shadow which is applied from between the area of the eyebrow and the eyelid. The neutral shade of eye shadow is then applied in a way that it gets blended well with the highlight shade, in the area where the two meet.
